I was tagged by Laurie to post 10 quirky things about my self.
1. I was born very pigeon-toed and was casted for a while before I could walk to straighten out my feet. It worked well, except when I sleep and then my feet still cross.
2. I have a water phobia. This involves oceans but I don't really like other water either. When my parents and grandmother took an ocean-based vacation right after I got divorced, I planned their funerals.
3. Along the same lines, I dislike swimming. I'm not scared of pools and I know how to swim. I just think swimming is silly. You get in and get wet and then you have to get out and dry off again.
4. I take the newspaper and have for years but I rarely read more than the headlines. Mostly I take it for the puzzle page - crosswords, cryptoquotes, and sudoku
5. I am not a fan of driving. My mom kidnapped me a few weeks after I turned 16 and made me get my driver's license against my will. My dream has always been to live in New York City where I would never have to drive.
6. I LOVE to cross stitch. I worry that Ruby's sister won't have as many things cross stitched just for her as Ruby does but it's much harder to find the time with a wee one at home.
7. I LOVE to read. I read fast. I usually finish a novel in a couple of days. I hate to check books out from the library because I can't read in peace with that deadline looming over me so I always buy my books.
8. I've been a vegetarian for 17 years. I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian, meaning I eat dairy and eggs (although I only eat eggs I can't see, like in cake). I also don't wear leather. Why wear it if I'm not going to eat it.
9. I hate to do housework. Okay I know that this isn't quirky but I am so bad about it that I paid for a housekeeper even when I was single without kids. I didn't want to spend my cross stitching time cleaning.
10. The kitchen is wasted space in my house. Ruby and I could get by with a mini-fridge and a microwave. I don't really know how to cook, nor do I have any desire to learn. Fortunately my mom feeds us 2 nights a week. Don't worry, I make stuff with protein for Ruby the rest of the week.
That's it. All my quirkiness summed up in these 10 points.
Who to tag? If you read this consider yourself tagged. Then leave me a comment so I can come check out your quirkiness.

I love to cross-stich too... although crochet is rapidly becomming my obsession because it goes faster :)
I was born pigeon toed and was in casts as well. I love cross-stich (although I haven't done it in awhile). I love to read and also do it quickly - I buy all my books as well.

OH, that reminds me I got tagged too.
This was funny to read. Trust me, Ruby's sister will live. With Cassie I did a detailed journal each day about what we did. With Krista I fudged it once a month, and Reese, well what's on the blog is what he gets!!
You really don't like water, do you?? SOrry to hear that. But,I am with you about boats.
I really don't see any of these things as being quirky...do you think that is because I have hung around you too long and find you to be normal now:-)!! Pacey and I missed you guys this weekend!! We want to play!
I replied to your tagging at my blog! :) Here's my list
Wow, such interesting things about you! #2 cracks me up.
I will have to do this tag!

what fun! I had a maid when I was married and didn't work! I still have one - I hate to really clean - I can't watch TV if there's a dish in the sink!
I had to wear brace shoes! I used to be able to cross stitch - you should smock!
Don't you love the random comments!
I often check in cause we have lots in common!
hmmmm, well, you and I wouldn't make the best travel companions since my idea of a vacation involves water, scuba diving, beaches, etc!!!!!!
I'm desperately trying to figure out how to afford a housekeeper and justify it. I hate cleaning with a passion and so I just pretty much don't do it a lot. Not good.

I am interested in raising vegetarian children, particularly adopting as a vegetarian. I hope I don't sound paranoid, but I know a lot of people who think that "people need meat to live," or that "kids need to make their own choice about what they eat." I plan on adopting in the next few years, and I am curious how the vegetarianism went over with your adoption agency. I'd love for you to e-mail me: kfornadel@specialized.com
